Teens collect socks for Hannah

Teenagers from Ohio, Indiana, and Michigan made a huge donation to Hannah's Socks Dec. 29.

The youths were in Toledo for the Missionary Church's annual convention but leading up to the event, the teen collected socks. Organizers say it's a good way to teach the teens a lesson.

"Students are very good at getting, but we wanted to create a generation that matches their compassion with action," said Carrie Badertscher, service coordinator. "So they get used to giving rather than getting."

The teens hoped to raise 10,000 pairs of new socks, but they fell a little bit short.

Still the teens presented more than 5,600 pairs to Hannah and her organization, Hannah's Socks.
